I shan't, because they are long in my past and many have died, but the "teaching culture" in the western United States in the late 70's and 80's was very much anti-intellectual, anti child and anti human.
Conformity and belonging to the "proper" clique was the whole deal.
The few teachers and staff who discarded that mold and acted like, well, teachers are people I still hold as heroes.
