I didn't join the piling on, and I think you presented your case well.

That being said, first, no, he's not innocent. He's not guilty. It's a very important technical line.

He is a killer. We are all capable of it. The crimes he was charged with, and ultimately (rightly for this left winger) acquitted of were not the proper charges to bring.

The media and the prosecution did not bring even their B game on this one.

He was guilty of being young and stupid, and our fucked up society was guilty of allowing someone young and stupid to be armed with a rapid fire weapon.

He should have been charged with several things that he was not, all with a lower penalty. He should not have walked. There was too much interference at all levels in this case. Yet, the jury did their duty and in my opinion, did it well. If that were less random, we'd do better, and there would be fewer headlines.

The laws should establish better boundaries, and we should *all* be better educated as to what the laws say and what those boundaries are.

This whole situation was a travesty. The only actors in it who acquitted themselves with honor were the jury members.
