However, what I've found in the wild (not just social media, I live in a red state) is that they don't really HAVE any definable concerns. The Trumpists, not all conservatives. They literally don't seem to have any agency as individuals, despite giving lip service to individuality.

Yes, they seriously believe what they're told to believe, but it's not based on really anything except xenophobia and a hatred of the word socialism. Not the actual concept, of which I've yet to get even a single one of them coherently explain, but the word itself.
